Part poster show + part fundraiser for one big community.
Afterhours poster show started with a small group of designers came together in 2015 to create a show. None of us really knew what to expect, but we are now in year three and we couldn’t be happier with the support the design community has granted us.
When we started this show we wanted to have an impact on the Austin community at large which we have been able to do with our non-profit partner. In 2015 we had the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (now the Central Texas Food Bank) which with the support of the design community and the designers in the show we raised over $3,200.00.
Then in 2016 we decided to do it again! This time we partnered with Austin Pets Alive, we grew the show from 30 artist to 40 and again with the outpouring of support of the design community and the designers in the show we raided over $4,000.00. Year three of Afterhours just wrapped up and a am proud to say it was a huge success, not only in the amount of funds we were able to raise for the non-profit partner, LifeWorks, but also that we were lucky enough to engage with someone many creative folks within the community.
